Questions and answers

Is it possible to divorce without going to court?

Yes, if there is no dispute and no minor children in common — through the civil registry office. If there are children or a property dispute, the court decides.

How long does a paternity case take?

Usually 2–4 months; most of this time is taken up by DNA testing.

Can property be divided without going to court?

Yes. Spouses can conclude an agreement on the division of their common property. We draft it to cover all assets, debts and the children’s interests; it is advisable to have the agreement notarised, and rights to real estate are then registered in the prescribed manner. If no agreement can be reached, the property is divided by the court.
